The Source of the Mekong – This 5-minute video segment takes a look at some of the environmental concerns of the rapid melting of the glaciers that sustain Asia’s longest river. It is in China’s most isolated province Qinghai plateau. The segment features interviews with Tibetan nomads living on the plateau, whose ancestors have lived there for thousands of years.
The Last of the Black Tents – This 4-minute video segment looks at the changing lives of the Tibetan nomadic people living on the Qinghai plateau. Their way of life has been untouched for centuries. But Chinese authorities are relocating the nomads into concrete dwellings. By 2010, 80 percent of the nomads are to be moved into these isolated townships, according to Chinese state media. This video depicts some gruesome imagery of live in these state-created dwellings. An old lady is shown, picking flesh off of a dead yak, to scrounge for a meal.

中方安排「假学生」提问 海外异议人士备感讽刺

美国总统奥巴马访华和中国学生对话，传出中方高层事前指定专人提问，此举令洛杉矶人权团体与民运人士备感讽刺。「中国事务」网站负责人伍凡直言，中方安排团干部向奥巴马提问的做法相当丢脸，而反对迫害法轮功的加州大学洛杉矶分校(UCLA)教授吴英年，也批评中方的举措毫无意义。自由亚洲电台记者萧融自洛杉矶报导
美国总统奥巴马访华，吸引中外人权团体眼球，「中国事务」网站负责人伍凡和反对迫害法轮功的旅美学者吴英年，首先点评奥巴马在上海和青年对话的问答形式。伍凡说：“与奥巴马交流对话时，两个发言的学生都是团干部，共产党玩这个把戏很快就被揭穿，也丢了大脸。可见共产党非常心虚，只相信死忠的共产党员。”吴英年则说：“奥巴马和中国大学生会面，学生的挑选与他们所提问题肯定经过严格审查，我们对此其实并不惊讶。经过网络搜索，发言提问者显然都是中共自家人，所谓“见面”毫无意义，仅是中共操纵的一场秀而已。”
伍凡从奥巴马到上海和稍早在日本、新加坡两地的公开讲话，估计他访华期间不会当面向中方高层直接讲明对人权和民主的立场，但奥巴马以美国经验谈网络言论空间，已和中国青年建立起只意会而不言传的沟通渠道。伍凡说：“这是高招，应该这样做，不能一到中国就把气氛破坏了，否则就不要(和胡锦涛)见面了。奥巴马之前一到日本，强调日美军事同盟是亚太安全基石，接着到了新加坡，又宣称要联手建立亚太自由经济区，第三步来到中国，先把身段放软，不把到访气氛搞坏。”
吴英年则根据提问学生真实身份在网上被揭露，指出中方高层单方面的刻意安排已不具意义。吴英年表示：“中共一这么做马上就被网民揭露是造假，从中也可以看出中共在信息时代想要施行愚民政策是愈来愈难以为继。”
伍凡和吴英年都认为，奥巴马访华期间一旦公开谈论中国人权和信仰问题，对海内外人权团体和民运人士将起到鼓舞作用，但也期许广大中国百姓自立自觉，争取应得权利。吴英年指出：“人权是靠所有中国人去争取，不是依靠某个名人。我们会一如既往地去争取信仰和言论等各方面权利。”
